The Trinitarian Cross

Lord, how often have we forgotten

that our redemption was not the act

of Jesus Christ alone

but of the whole Trinity?

In our sorrow,

we only see the crucified Son.

Alone and forgotten amidst

the darks clouds of eternity,

and yet, somehow,

Father and Spirit bore witness

to the passion and the agony of the Son.

Why do we not see the presence

of the Holy Trinity in the

crosses of our lives?

Why do we not feel the Holy Trinity

in the deepest sorrows of our existence?

Why do we not sense the Trinity

in the painful agonies of our lives?

Are we all alone?

Maybe, we fail to sense

the Trinity’s presence

as we are too focused

on our personal miseries

and complaints.

Lord grant us the grace

to carry the cross

of our life in your name.
