Requiem Mass for A Beloved Father of a Father Priest

On June 17, 2007, at around 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon, the clouds turned dark and rain fell as the celebration of a requiem mass started for the beloverequiemorlandoadoviso5.jpgd father of a father priest. Mr. Orlando Adoviso, the father of Fr. Enrico Martin F. Adoviso, parish priest of the Most Holy Trinity Parish, passed away on June 14 at the University of Santo Tomas Hospital (ten days after his 83rd birthday).

Funeral wake was held at Funeraria Nacional at Araneta Avenue, Quezon City. After the requiem mass, the funeral entourage proceeded and arrived at the Loyola Memorial Park, Marikina City at around 3:40 o’clock in the afternoon. A military band and honor guard led the funeral procession towards the burial ground.

As the coffin of Mr. Orlando Adoviso was being buried, the sound of gunfire from the honor guards punctuated the soft murmur of a crowd in mourning. As night fell, the sky turned red amidst the blue facade of the Most Holy Trinity Church…soon darkness, waiting for the morning sun to rise.
