19th Century Manila Playing Football

Who says Filipinos are late in loving football! A late 19th century print showing Filipinos playing the beautiful football (or at least playing with a football). Go Azkals!

The Azkals lost the semi-finals to Indonesia. The Azkals won the hearts of Filipino football fans. Now, when do we start building a world-class football stadium?  When will the Filipino real-estate moguls move out of building the biggest shopping malls and start giving back to the country? When will the Filipino architectural firms design the best football stadium in Asia? Or shall the present and future Azkals, like the 19th century counterparts, just be content with playing football on the streets of Manila?
