When A Painting Becomes A Movie, From the “Way to Calvary” to “The Mill and the Cross.”

What happens when a painting created in the year 1564 becomes the main character in a movie created in the year 2011?  Directed by Lech Majewski, The Mill and the Cross premiered at the Sundance on Jan 23, 2011 and received outstanding reviews.  The director combined human actors with digital art and film technology to tell the story of the hidden symbols and messages of the painting. As an example, the first image below shows a still from the movie with human actors and in the background can be seen a wind mill similar to the original painting. We hope that the film will be distributed locally here in the Philippines. For more information, please click the link below: http://www.themillandthecross.com/
