An angel with outstretched wings, holding a flower wreath with her right hand, her left hand touching her neck possibly to ease some pain. An engraved cross with a chi rho (Christ monogram) can be seen behind her. Below her feet can be seen a palm leaf and to her left, an unusual lapida image, that of an ancient oil lamp with smoke billowing out. The oil lamp can symbolize the “immortality of the spirit” (Iconography of Art & Architecture, Buffalo Museum).
